Instructions for Authors
China Tropical Medicine is the national academic journal charged by Health and Family Planning Commission of People's Republic of China, and sponsored by China Preventive Medicine Association and Hainan Center for Disease Control and Prevention. It is a monthly magazine with 96 pages. It has been rated as the statistical source journal since 2006 (the core journal of Chinese science and technology).
1. Purpose: The journal is a professional academic journal of tropical medicine, mainly publishing the scientific research achievements and experience of tropical diseases and tropical public health research, introducing new theories, technologies and new progress, promoting academic exchanges domestic and abroad, and promoting the development of scientific research and prevention work.
2. Main columns: The journal has columns such as comment, special report and treatise (experimental research, disease surveillance, clinical research), short treatise, review, experience exchange, and case report etc.
3. Requirements for contributions: Clear arguments, reliable data, rigorous structure, clear hierarchy, concise text and accurate data are required. Please use Word format for the manuscript. The words used in the paper should be standardized, and acronyms should be used as little as possible. The full name should be stated at the first appearance when it must be used, and then the acronyms should be noted in brackets. The specific requirements are as follows:
3.1 Title (both in Chinese and English): Title should be concise and eye-catching, which can reflect the theme of the essay. Generally speaking, the title should be 20-25 characters in Chinese. All essays should be accompanied by English title.
3.2 Authors and work units (in both English and Chinese): The first author should attach a brief introduction of year of birth, gender, education background, professional title, and research field (Chinese only), if there are any foreign authors, with the name of the authors’ own language. Different work units more than one author signature, should be in the upper right corner of the name with a serial number. All authors should indicate the place names and post codes, the foreign authors’ units should list their country names, corresponding author with E-mail address. The name of the author (in Bopomofo, uppercase surname, uppercase first letter of the name, e.g. LI Shuqing), work units, the city and the zip code, the country must be attached to the title. Footnotes should be provided on the title page of the paper if the topic of the paper is funded. For example, Foundation: Natural Science Foundation of China (No.30111258). For multiple projects funded, semicolon should be used to separate them.
3.3 Summary and keywords (Chinese and English): Treatise, special reports and short treatises are accompanied by structural Chinese and English abstracts, and commentary papers are accompanied by indicative Chinese and English abstracts. Structural summary needs more than 500 words, including the objective, methods, results, and conclusions of 4 parts, written in the third person; indicative summary needs more than 300 words, mainly describes the purpose of the paper, data source, data selection, data extraction, data synthesis and conclusion. Three to eight key words should be marked in the paper, selected from MeSH Word List and Chinese Subject Word List. The main free words and important terms in new disciplines and technologies not included in the word list can also be marked as keywords.
3.4 Hierarchy and serial number: Try to reduce the levels of the article, set the serial number before the title of the content, use Arabic numerals before text chapter and paragraph at all levels, sorted by 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, no title content with natural paragraph.
3.5 Units of measurement: To implement the Legal Units of Measurement of People's Republic of China, reference to the third edition of the Application of Legal Units of Measurement in Medicine published by Military Doctors in 2004. If the relationship between dose and body mass, time is expressed in mg/(kg·d), not in mg/kg/d. Chinese numeric range number is using ~ (English is -), for example, 18%～28% or （18～28）%，3×109～5×109 or（3～5）×109. Common Difference can be written as (73.6± 2.3) mg/m3. Common symbols in statistics (e.g., n, t, χ2, P, etc.) should be italicized.
3.6 Tables and figures in the manuscript: Figures or tables and text expression content as far as possible do not repeat. The tables should be concise, generally with three (horizontal) line table. The tables and figures (including title and annotation) of the treatise should be marked in both Chinese and English. JPG or TIF files for pictures should be above 300dpi.
3.7 References: According to the national standard GB7714-2015, all papers should be accompanied by references, and all the original works (no translation, abstract, reprint, and internal data) should be quoted, numbered according to the order in which they appear in the text, and marked with square brackets at the upper right corner of the citation. Each reference must be verified with the original text, and should be listed at the end of the article in the order of application of the literature. There should be no less than 20 references for comments and reviews, no less than 15 references for treatise, and no less than 10 references for short treatise and experience exchange.
4. Other matters needing attention: Please upload the letter of contribution and the copyright transfer agreement signed and stamped by the author unit, which indicates the authenticity of the manuscript and that no more contributions are submitted. All the authors shall be responsible for the text. If the paper is funded by the fund, please upload the fund certificate to our editorial department website. After submission, please pay manuscript handling fee, 50 yuan each paper. Inform the author to pay the layout fee according to the space occupied after confirmation of received. After the manuscripts published, we will mail current journal 2 copies, if you need more, please inform the editorial office pay for it. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Copyright Law, the editorial board can be for modifications to cut manuscripts received, as the author does not agree, please submit the declaration. This journal has been compiled into databases such as Chinese Academic Journals (CD-ROM version), once accepted, contributions will be included in the above-mentioned databases at the same time, as the author does not agree, please submit the declaration.
